Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Tarangire National Park.
On the first day of the safari, your Tanzanian wildlife adventure begins with your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will meet you welcome, and then brief you about the safari. After briefing you will immediately start driving to Tarangire National Park. This fast start ensures you increase your limited time. Tarangire is famous for its wonderful landscape, with the giant Baobab trees, and is a home to some of the Africa’s largest elephant herds. You will spend the afternoon on a game drive, focusing on the abundant wildlife that congregates around the Tarangire River. Your accommodation for the night will be a comfortable lodge near the park exist or the nearby town of Karatu.
Day 2: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater.
Day two requires an early start as you descend into Ngorongoro crater a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This unique natural encloser, formed by a collapsed volcano, holds the highest concentration of the permanent wildlife in Africa. The six-hour game drive on the crater floor provides the best chance of spotting the entire Big five, including the rare and endangered black rhino. The dense population of lions, cheetahs, zebras and wildebeests all contained within the spectacular crater walls, makes for non-stop action and exceptional photography. After a picnic lunch inside the crater, you will ascend and drive towards the vast plains of Serengeti, arriving at your camp late afternoon. Later be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight.
Day 3&4: Transfer to Serengeti national park.
Day three and four are dedicated to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, the heart of Tanzania’s wildlife experience. This is where you will experience the size of the African savanna.
Day 3 begins with an early morning game drive in the central Seronera Valley a key area known for the reliable sightings of predators, especially leopards and cheetahs, which thrive on the resident plains game. Your guide will track the location of the Great Migration herds, driving to increase your chances of seeing the massive columns of wildebeests and zebras (depending on the time of the year).
Day 4 is a full day of extensive exploration within Serengeti national park. You will cover different habitats, from the open grasslands to the rocky Kopjes (rocky outcrops) providing diverse viewing opportunities for lions, hyenas and the vast antelopes species that sustain the ecosystem. The goal is to increase your time in this magnificent park, ensuring a comprehensive view of its ecosystem.
Day 5: Morning game drive and Departure.
Your last day begins with a final, wake up early in the morning and meet your safari guide and then go for the morning game drive in Serengeti National Park early in the morning that is the best time for the predator activity. After the morning game drive, you will return to the camp for a final safari breakfast, you will be transferred to a local airstrip (such as Seronera Airstrip) for a pre-booked domestic flight back to Arusha or directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). This flight is crucial for saving time on this short itinerary, allowing you to increase your wildlife viewing days before connecting with your international flight home.
